What is the story behind twiddish?
While studying abroad in Florence, Italy, twiddish co-founder Jonny Cottone was told by a professor that he would have to travel two hours by train to a particular restaurant in Bologna if he wanted to try his favorite tortellini. Trusting his professors palate, Jonny made the journey and took a picture of his meal so he could share his food adventure with his friends who were not able to make the trip. It was at that moment that Jonny had his initial "aha moment". Years later Jonny explored creating an online picture menu with twiddish co-founder Michael Stewart but the two determined that the endeavor would be financially prohibitive due to the army of food photographers that would be required. With the emergence and widespread adoption of camera phones, social media, and micro-blogging Jonny and Michael recognized that the technology had advanced to the point where they could turn their ideas into a foodie community of user-generated dish-by-dish restaurant reviews.
